2014 Region XI CRC CTTC Award Winners

Thank you to all the CTTC/Programs Chairs for the 2013-2014 Society Year for your hard work, resulting in a successful year of programs.  I would like to take a moment to highlight the Region XI CTTC Awards winners that were announced on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Region XI CRC Awards Banquet.

L.O. Crooks Refrigeration Award – to encourage excellence in Refrigeration activities and to promote interest in Refrigeration at the Chapter level.  MARK STITT, VANCOUVER ISLAND CHAPTER.

Winston Award – to encourage and recognize excellence in Chapter Programs.  DANA STRASSER, NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN ALBERTA CHAPTERS.

Exceptional Programs Recognition – in addition to the Winston Award, I wanted to recognize the following CTT Chairs for their exceptional programs.  LUKE IPPERSIEL, VANCOUVER ISLAND CHAPTER; MICHEL SOTURA, PUGET SOUND CHAPTER.

Region XI Technology Awards – we received submittals from 7 out of 12 Region XI Chapters for a total of 13 submittals.  First Place winners are eligible to apply for the Society Technology Awards due to Society by September 1, 2014.  I will send out further details to all Region XI First Place winners in a few weeks.

Ralph Robson Technology Award – to recognize the best overall winning entry amongst all the categories in the Regional Technology Award Competition.  BENJAMIN FRANK GOZART, CHARLES CHALOEICHEEP, TOM MARSEILLE, TOM BOYSEN – FEDERAL CENTER SOUTH (Puget Sound Chapter).

First Place New Commercial Facilities – BENJAMIN FRANK GOZART, CHARLES CHALOEICHEEP, TOM MARSEILLE, TOM BOYSEN –FEDERAL CENTER SOUTH (Puget Sound Chapter).

First Place New Educational Facilities – BRIAN A. HAUGK, BRIAN CANNON, MARK HUMISTON, KEN LARSEN – VALLEY VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL (Puget Sound Chapter).

First Place Existing Other Institutional – KRISTINA M. SING –THOMAS S FOLEY US FEDERAL COURTHOUSE (Puget Sound Chapter).

First Place New Residential – SHAWN ORAM, JONATHAN HELLER, CARMEN CEJUDO – PLACE OF HIDDEN WATERS (Puget Sound Chapter).

First Place New Public Assembly – ART G. SUTHERLAND – WESTHILLS ARENA (Vancouver Island Chapter).

First Place New Other Institutional – MATTHEW LONGSINE – TACOMA CENTER FOR URBAN WATERS (Puget Sound Chapter).

First Place New Health Care Facilities – MARK STAVIG, GREG ROMANIUK – PEACE ISLAND MEDICAL CENTER (Puget Sound Chapter).

Second Place New Commercial Facilities – AARON MULLALEY, STEPHEN MCNICHOLLS – SARC BUILDING (British Columbia Chapter).

Second Place New Other Institutional – ADAM CHARLES CARLSON, MARK KOLLER, STACEY LIN – EAST COUNTY COURTHOUSE (Oregon Chapter).

Second Place New Educational Facilities – CHRISTOPHER NEIL CONLEY – ST. MARY’S COMMUNITY SCHOOL (Saskatoon Chapter).

Honorable Mention New Other Institutional – GREG P. FLUTER – CITY OF REGINA FIRE STATION #4 (Regina Chapter).

Honorable Mention New Educational Facilities – RUSSELL J. LAVITT – RICHARDS COLLEGE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT (Manitoba Chapter).
